Ernest Hemmingway's Patio
George is resting at Ernest Hemmingway's house.
To his left is the swimming pool that his 2nd wife put in to
surprise him. When he got home, Hemmingway reached into his
pocket and threw a penny on the ground and said, "you might as well
have taken my last cent". (Although Pauline's Uncle had paid
for the pool). Pauline had the penny permanently placed in a
glass block embedded by the pool.
They divorced shortly thereafter.
